NYC Job Opening – SLMS
This full-time librarian position is a very special opportunity to serve an underserved population of students in a brand-new state-of-the-art library in the South Bronx.
You would be serving a K-8 population of approximately 300 special
education students in a District 75 school.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The ability to work well with a socio-economically and ethnically diverse population of students who also have physical and mental challenges. Although the ability to run a K-8 library is a given, excellent social skills, a warm heart, and a sense of humor will be the key to a successful library program. This is a rare opportunity for librarians wishing to serve the underserved.
OTHER INFORMATION:
This library was created through a 1.3 million dollar grant from the Robin Hood Foundation. It has every amenity you can think of including a FLEX schedule, and it is well endowed, receiving an additional $13,000 in grant funds for books last year.
