The successful candidate has a masters degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited program. He or she is a lover of children’s literature and working with young students, familiar with integrating library skills into the curriculum and developing creative lessons, comfortable and innovative with technology, supportive of colleagues and implementing the Dalton Plan. This position reports to the Director of Libraries and Information Services and the First Program Director.

The position involves working with students and faculty, grades k-12, in an active, collaborative media and technologically rich environment.
Responsibilities include:

• Managing the school’s library commons and supporting the library extension makerspace, including  circulation, the print collection, databases and makerspace equipment
• Collaborating with teachers to support curriculum development and integrating information literacy and technology skills
• Helping students and their teachers with information navigation and evaluation of information sources
• Promoting reading, writing, literacy and independent learning.

Degree in library media science preferred. Ability to troubleshoot and configure hardware and software helpful.
