Databases
The Dutchess School Library System subsidizes several databases for our members. The SLS office also registers our members for databases that are available from the NY State Library.
- NOVELNY databases - Provided by the New York State Library, NOVELNY connects New Yorkers to 21st century information. NOVELNY is supported with temporary federal Library Services and Technology Act funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The New York Library Initiative is a proposal for permanent state funding for NOVELNY, a pilot project for the Statewide Internet Library.
- CENGAGE-Gale -Health, business, newspapers, literature and more.
- EBSCO - Primary Search via Searchasaurus is a collection of reference materials geared toward elementary and middle school age users. It contains 68 full-text titles.
- Proquest - Periodicals covering a broad range of material: business, education, general reference, health, language arts, sciences, social sciences, and may other curriculum-specific subject areas.
- Scholastic - Online encyclopedias including Encyclopedia Americana Encyclopedia, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia and The New Book of Knowledge
New York State Public Television databases available to members
- Ed Video Online - Digital video service, free to all NYS K-12 and Adult Literacy teachers and their students.
School Library System databases available to members
- ASCD Education eBook Collection - 56 professional development eBooks titles from the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development
- H.W. Wilson Collections - Selective annotated list of fiction and nonfiction book and a unique working and teaching tool created by librarians for librarians.
- Noodle Tools - citation and note taking software
- TeachingBooks - K-12 multimedia author and book resources.

Love the new look!
I really like the logo: Nice clean, distinctive look
Now for niggling details:
But when I’m actually using the web page, it takes up a lot of screen room on my widescreen laptop

Also, when I clicked on the Horizon link, I ended up at SEAL.
