Workshop: AASL Standards for the 21st Century Learner
This workshop will focus on the new AASL Standards for the 21st Century Learner. Dutchess County School Librarians will have an opportunity to engage in small group conversation to review the new Learning Standards. The facilitators for each session participated in the 2008 NYLA/SLMS Summer Leadership Conference on Standards for the 21st Century Learner. The conference focused on looking at the structure of the new standards and seeing models of the standards in action. They will help guide participants through the following discussion topics: defining the standards language, applying the standards throughout the grade levels, instructional strategies to help students master the standards and integrating the standards into the content area curriculum.
